VINTAGE TURKISH POSTAGE STAMP
Out of circulation. Single stamp
75 kurus stamp printed in 1958 by K M T AS Alaeddin Kiral (Printing) as a rememberance of the 20th aniversary of Turkish leader and founder of Turkish Republic Mustafa Kemal Ataturk's death. Stamp depicting a silhouette of Ataturk in front of the fancy pane of the Hall of Honor at his mausoleum in Ankara (Anitkabir) where he rests along with a sword and a olive branch twined sympbolising his leadership in time of war and peace.
Kurus was worth 100th of a Turkish Lira (TL) before the removal of the 6 zeros from the end to start the new lira. It has been long out of circulation.
